Notably if you are using Cats Blender Plugin, it merges meshes automatically when you "Fix Model". Don't make things harder than they have to be- find a model that starts low! 20k is quite a large amount of leeway. In other words, you're going to have problems if you try to take a 120,000 made-for-rendering model and squeeze it into 20,000 polygons. The most effective optimization tends to occur during initial design and avatar creation. It is very rare that you need even this many polygons for details- look into baking a normal map and simplifying your mesh via decimation or retopology.Ĭreating avatars for the Quest can be more challenging due to the reduced limits. The SDK will warn you if you're trying to upload a model that exceeds 70,000 triangles for PC or 20,000 on Quest. Merging meshes together is very simple in Blender, and is shown in the Meshes video below.įinally, ensure that you're not using an excessive amount of triangles. Therefore, VRChat recommends that you have one Skinned Mesh Renderer at maximum, and 3 static mesh renderers at maximum. On top of that, each additional mesh on your avatar incurs one or more additional "Draw Calls"- essentially, time spent by your processor telling your graphics card to draw something on the screen. There is very little reason to have more than one- most of the time, additional items can be built into the original model. These Skinned Meshes are significantly more expensive, and you should only have one skinned Mesh Renderer on your avatar. Skinned Meshes, however, usually have rigs (bones) that tell the engine how to move and deform the mesh based on the position of the bones. There's two types of Mesh Renderers that your avatar could have on it- Static Mesh Renderers and Skinned Mesh Renderers. Actually if they all look like low budget versions of themselves that might be funny too.Maybe use a broken meme version of the original audio along with it lol.Reduce the amount of meshes on your avatar If you have say 10 characters that are basically one avatar, they would either lag the crap out of the lobby when you use the animation, kind of ruining it in the firsr place, or if you don't want that to happen make them all really low polygon count, but they all look like crap lol. Two, I'm new in this game, but my understanding is that there are issues involving the number of polygons and the amount of lag it creates in a lobby. One, just the amount of time to animate all of this, depending on how many characters there are in the end. I can see that being pretty funny actually, but I can also see two problems. I vaguely remember that specific scene, but you're saying you want a single "avatar" to poop out avengers from a portal, one after the other (or multiple portals can't exactly remember)? See you'll folks soon (hopefully with a DM XD) This is a turning point for Vrchat, I just know it! Thank you very much, and have a pleasant day. If anybody (or multiple people) have the skills (not to mention the time and patience) to actually pull this off, I beg of you, DM me ASAP. The animation should have the original audio from the movie, so it feels more like the actual scene. Then, all of the heroes start to run in the direction of the character. First Black Panther, then Falcon and so on. What I'm specifically wanting from this animation, is all of these heroes (and side characters) to pop out of Doctor Strange's portals, just like in the movie. There could be a few separate little animations along side the avatar, but the main animation would be in the emote tab, allowing more people to view the animation. It would start off with the avatar being a lone Captain America, with his broken shield. What if someone could recreate this in Vrchat? Just the Avengers, not the Villains. Many heroes were there and an all out clash ensured. Here is my crazy idea: if any of you have watched Avengers Endgame, you would recall the massive battle against thanos' army. As I have no experience of creating avatars myself, along with this request, I'm reaching out to the community of Steam to find help. Greetings, my fellow VRchatters, I believe I have the best idea for an avatar, that will make everyone jealous as anything.
